Amy Munds

TUTORING PROGRAM ASSISTANT DIRECTOR 410.523.1542 x 17

Amy found the Brown Memorial Tutoring Program after 25 years of working with children. She started her career in music therapy working with adults and children with disabilities. She then went on to complete her master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Special Education. Amy worked as an early childhood special ed teacher, teaching young children with varying physical and learning challenges. Amy continued her work in education, homeschooling her own children and serving as assistant and para-professional at Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School.

As a member of Brown Memorial, Amy volunteered with the tutoring program,  sparking her interest in the Orton Gillingham  philosophy, a specialized reading approach for children with reading and writing learning differences. This interest, and her desire to serve the children of Baltimore City, led her to the co-assistant director position with the Brown Memorial Tutoring Program.

Amy is married to Phil Munds. They have two children, Hannah and Ian, and live in Baltimore City.
