Amy is excited to return to Brown Memorial Tutoring as Program Coordinator after leaving the Assistant Director position to live in the UK for four years. Her passion for this program and its rich history and philosophy led her to find others like it while living abroad, only to bring her home to Baltimore and the city she loves. Amy comes alive when she can contribute to the tutoring program’s positive impact on the students of Baltimore, whether it is by keeping the program space organized, collaborating with the staff to improve efficiency and effectiveness, training and guiding tutors in providing a structured literacy approach, or tutoring the students herself. What is most enjoyable for Amy is being present with the students, watching them learn self love and thrive as developing readers.

Amy holds an  M.Ed. from University of Maryland with a focus on Early Childhood Special Education. She has worked as classroom teacher in both Fairfax, VA and in Baltimore City schools. She has been extensively trained as a structured literacy tutor and worked as Assistant Director of Brown Memorial Tutoring for six years before moving to the UK in 2021.
