Learning and Growing in Community

The church is comprised of many small groups that provide easy entry points for community beyond our weekly worship. Sunday mornings offer the most opportunities, with early morning meditation, and education classes for children, youth and adults. Weekday gatherings include a weekly Bible study, a monthly spiritual reading/discussion group, and other ad hoc groups that come together around a common interest. Learn more about our church life.

Making Music

Music has a long and deep history here, rooted in the joy that comes from singing the faith. Try out the weekly rehearsal of the Chancel Choir. The Soulful Revue men’s singing group and Soulful Sisters women’s group lead worship in a different style a few times each year. A children’s choir, intergenerational handbell choir and the intergenerational Brown Symphony Orchestra round out the vibrant music program. Learn more about our choral and instrumental music ensembles.

Engaging God’s Mission and Justice

Mission and justice are in our blood. From a volunteer tutoring program serving Baltimore City public school children for nearly 60 years, to participation in BUILD – Baltimore’s citizens’ power organization, to our longstanding partnerships in El Salvador and the Native American churches of the Dakota Presbyterian in the Midwest, we try to cultivate doers of the Word. A wide range of opportunities exist for people who want to live their faith in the world. Learn more about Brown’s work in the city, as well as our work in the the world.

Exploring Membership

Senior Pastor Andrew Foster Connors holds a regular inquirer’s class for anyone who wishes to know more about membership at Brown. Contact Andrew to learn more about the classes that are scheduled several times a year.
