Kazi’s love for children and spiritual community brings her to work at Brown Memorial as the principal Nursery Caregiver, predominantly during Sunday morning service. She works to ensure that the children, usually ages 2-5, have a nurturing, fun, and engaging environment to play and socialize with each other. At the same time, she provides parents and guardians with peace of mind, knowing their children are safe and well cared for while they get a little spiritual replenishment.
Though Kazi’s primary career is as a 3D computer graphics artist, she also has a background in youth arts and tech education, working with K-12 students. Through this experience, she learned to appreciate how open and eager children are to learn, grow, and creatively express themselves when provided with the right opportunities. Coupled with her desire to raise a family someday, her experience as a youth educator inspired her to seek out more opportunities to play a positive role in the lives of youth.
For Kazi, there are few things in this world more precious than seeing a timid, shy child blossom into an engaged social being in playful communion with others, and she considers having the opportunity to play a role in that process, however small, to be a true blessing.
As a deeply spiritual person and practicing Buddhist who values religious pluralism and interfaith coexistence, Kazi is grateful to be counted as a member of the Brown community, where she can bring together her love for children, spiritual community, and reverence for the divine into a single meaningful occupation.
Kazi resides in Baltimore, Maryland, with her roommate Anastasia and her adorable little tabby-cat friend, Lana.
