This concert features a top-notch quintet of Baltimore Symphony Orchestra brass musicians including Principal Horn Phil Munds, Principal Trumpet Andrew Balio, Assistant Principal Trumpet René Hernandez, Principal Trombone Aaron LaVere, and Tuba player Chris Tiedeman. They will be joined by Brown Memorial’s Music Minister Michael Britt at the organ.
The first half of the program will be traditional brass and organ pieces by Handel, Mozart, Gabrieli and others. The second half will include holiday works by Guaraldi, Tchaikovsy and Steve Allen (yes, that Steve Allen), arranged for brass ensemble by Sean O’Laughlin, as well as other favorites of the season. BSO Percussionist Barry Dove will join the second half.
