The Urban Witness Committee has organized a follow-up meeting to November’s conversation on this topic. Join them in the Church House parlor after worship and welcome special guests Dr. Michael Fingerhood, Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, and Kim Burton, Director of Older Adult Programs at the Mental Health Association of Maryland. They will present on several topics regarding opioids, including how they impact the brain and the body, symptoms of abuse, special population considerations, treatment and recovery. Conditions that increase risk for misuse and abuse will be explored and there will be a discussion on ways that we can prevent addiction as well as contribute to other solutions. Time will be allowed for questions and answers.
