Dr. Leana Wen, Commissioner of the Baltimore City Health Department, will join us in the sanctuary after worship to discuss concrete steps the faith community and wider community can take to alleviate suffering due to the opioid crisis, including reducing the stigma around addiction and treating it as a disease. The agenda for the event is:

• A 30-minute talk by Dr. Wen, including a demonstration of how to use naloxone (also known as Narcan)—a drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
• A 30-minute question and answer session facilitated by Rev. Andrew Foster Connors.

This event is free and open to the community.
