Dreams & Visions Baltimore and Baltimore Safe Haven invite you to volunteer at their Queer Suppers.
Why Queer Suppers?
Many LGBTQ+ families live with housing and food insecurity. Together, we can create a safe, warm place to share a meal and build our broader community. In November and December, twice-monthly hot meals will be offered for LGBTQ+ families. Volunteers are needed to make these dinners a reality.
If you would like to help, attend the volunteer training and cook day on Sunday, November 3 from 1-5 pm. The afternoon will be spent cooking casseroles to be frozen for future meals, as well as receiving training in cultural competency and privilege assessment, led by Kevi Smith-Joyner, and a trauma-informed presence training.
The emotional, spiritual, and physical safety of everyone who shares these meals is taken very seriously. For this reason, attending this training is mandatory for all who wish to volunteer.
To sign up for the training, fill out this quick form: https://tinyurl.com/QueerSuppers
You can email volunteer coordinator Julie Anderson with any questions: [email protected].
