"At Close of Day: Songs of Eventide" is the last Tiffany Series concert of the season. The centerpiece of this elegant concert is Mozart's "Solemn Vespers," which includes five psalm settings. the next-to-last one, "Laudate Dominum" is especially gorgeous, as the soprano soars above the choir in one of Mozart's most exquisite melodies.

Also on the program are Mozart''s well-loved motet, "Ave Verum Corpus," and a commissioned work, "Phos Hilaron" (Hail Gladdening Light), which is a setting of the earliest known Christian hymn, a 3rd Century Greek work praising the fading light at close of day.
