REFLECTIONS ON THE COLOR OF LAW AND THE ROLE OF THE CHURCH IN HOUSING DISCRIMINATION: As part of Brown Memorial's commitment to antiracism, a group has been reading The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein and researching the role of the church in housing discrimination. We've dug into the text, primary sources on Baltimore's history of discrimination, legal journals, and articles to deeply understand the issue and how it continues to affect our city. We invite you to join us as we share learnings and reflection on the text, the role congregations played in enacting and perpetuating discrimination, and the ways congregations must be leaders in dismantling discrimination. These discussions will connect well with the February presentations from BUILD on their work on housing in the city. We hope you will join us in the reflection about the places we live and their history.
