The Practice of Walking a Labyrinth

Organizer: David Myford

How do you walk a Labyrinth? Why do you walk a Labyrinth? What is the history of the Labyrinth?  Join us following lunch, as Gail Hambleton & David Myford delve into these questions and share many pictures, experiences, and practices such as “Walking the Labyrinth with Jesus” and “The Art of Labyrinth Walking” which serves as the basics of meditative walking for anyone new to the Labyrinth. Gail was instrumental in establishing the “Reconciliation Labyrinth” of Fairfax, VA, introducing Labyrinth walking to many diverse faith communities and facilitating it’s use for creating and deepening interreligious relationships. David will share the fascinating history of the Labyrinth through pictures and it’s relevance for us today. A labyrinth is a metaphor for life. It is about the world in which we live: we are alone and unique, but it is through relationship and unity with others that we become truly human. We invite you to join us in this discussion!
