Would you like to inspire the love of reading in a child and help them improve their reading skills? Then the Brown Memorial Tutoring Program (BMTP) has a perfect volunteer opportunity for you! BMTP, the Brown Memorial Presbyterian Park Avenue Church’s oldest and largest mission, is recruiting tutors for the 2005-2026 school year. No teaching or tutoring experience is needed. We will train you in the Structured Literacy approach based on the Science of Reading. BMTP works with Baltimore City public school students in the 1st through 5th grade during the school day, on-site in our Tutoring Center located on the 3rd floor of the Fellowship Building.
We are hosting an Open House Tuesday April 8, from 1:15-2:15. Come along and bring a friend to observe a tutoring session and learn about how you can become a tutor!
