Theology On Tap
Apr 22, 2025 at 6:30pm

Join us for our next Theology on Tap gathering on Tuesday, April 22, at 6:30pm at Guilford Hall Brewery. Our speaker this month is Marc Davis, Nat Davis's father! He has done a lot of thinking about the book of Job and will help us explore some of the themes we find there.

Job is a good man who suffers in extraordinary ways. That is perplexing to people (including him!), because they believe that you get what you have coming, that God has set up the world in such a way that good people get good things, and sinners suffer. Is this a way of thinking that still has staying power in our society? How does that idea express itself? Is there any way that you believe that it is true? And how does this idea intersect with the story of Jesus?
