Francesca believes in the power of high-quality audio and visual documentation to shape our experiences of events and our connections to communities. In her role as Media Specialist at Brown, she engineers the live sound, manages the livestream, and makes video and audio recordings during Sunday worship services and other events.
Francesca has always found it enriching to make events run as smoothly as possible and to help them be meaningful experiences for those who are there. Since she was a teenager, she has served different event spaces and concert series as production assistant, lighting designer, stage manager, score reader, camera operator, and technical director. She now works as a freelance audio and video engineer around Baltimore and Washington DC.
A musician by training, Francesca holds degrees in music composition from Williams College and the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. She remains a working composer and teacher, as well as an occasional performer on piano, organ, and voice. She is especially grateful to be able to support and enjoy music in the lovely acoustic of Brown’s sanctuary every week.
Having grown up in Montreal, Canada, Francesca is now happy to call Baltimore home. She enjoys long walks in its historic neighborhoods and cooking with fresh ingredients from the Baltimore Farmers Market.
