The schedule for Opening Day is:

10:15 – 10:30  New Tutor Coffee and registration

10:30 – 11:00  New Tutor Orientation

10:45 – 11:00  Veteran Tutor Coffee and Registration

11:00 – 12:00  All Tutor Meeting (tour and exploration)

12:00 – 1:00     Lunch provided by the Tutoring Program

Tutor Training, Sept. 26 & 27, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The Tutoring Program is thrilled to have its own expert Orton-Gillingham educator, Coppie MacFarlane, conduct the training sessions this year.  Coppie will provide the foundation for why the Tutoring Program uses Orton-Gillingham to teach reading, and then take tutors through the basic components of an O-G lesson plan for three types of students.  The second day of training will be a continuation of the first, as well as a focus on teaching the seven syllable types. It is sure to be highly motivational and informative.
