Tutoring Program Welcomes Tutors Sept. 19

The new school year has arrived and Opening Day for the Brown Memorial Tutoring Program’s tutors is Sept. 19, followed by two days of training Sept. 26 and 27. No prior teaching experience is required to be a tutor.

All Church Retreat is Sept. 30 in Western Maryland

All Brown Memorial friends are invited to join us in the mountains of Western Maryland for rest, recreation, and reconnection with God. The day will begin and end on Sept. 30 (9:30 a.m.-9 p.m.) at the beautiful Skycroft Conference Center. The agenda includes lunch and dinner, games, workshops, s’mores and quiz night. Registration deadline is Sept. 12.

Sunday Morning Education Classes Resume Sept. 10

Our new church year begins on Sunday Sept. 10 at 9:45 when our education opportunities before worship resume (worship moves from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. after Labor Day). There is something for everyone and all are welcome.

Session Approves Sanctuary Tenets Approved by State Coalition

For the past year and a half, representatives of Brown Memorial’s Hispanic Ministries Committee have been participating in the Sanctuary Coalition of Central Maryland to discern the need to establish a sanctuary movement in the Central Maryland area. The coalition is comprised of pastors and lay leaders from churches across the Central Maryland region.
