As worshipers in Baltimore City and residents of the Greater Baltimore geographic area, Brown Memorial members and youth have pledged to be involved in voter registration and turnout ahead of this year’s mayoral race.
On March 13, they joined approximately 1,000 people at Coppin State University for the Mayoral Candidate Accountability Assembly organized by BUILD (Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development).
“We want to hear from these candidates how they are going to put Baltimore back work,” said Andrew Foster Connors, who co-leads BUILD.
Six Democratic Party Baltimore City mayoral candidates – Sheila Dixon, Elizabeth Embry, Nick Mosby, Catherine E. Pugh, Carl Stokes and David Warnock – took the stage to speak about how they would tackle creating more jobs for adult and youth city residents, fund a recreation plan and better train and hold police accountable.
