Calling for a new day of peace between faiths

Andrew Foster Connors and other clergy seated in a row as panelists.

Andrew Foster Connors, Tim Hughes and several members and friends of Brown Memorial joined members of the Masjid Bait-us-Samad Mosque in Rosedale along with other Christian and Jewish clergy to call for a new day of peace between our faiths, unity against violence and hate, and hope for a new beginning of understanding and cooperation in our communities.

The Imam of the Mosque condemned the attacks in San Bernadino, CA, and shared Muslim teachings on the sanctity of life. Following addresses made by several speakers, a question and answer session ensued followed by a time of fellowship.

Andrew’s relationship with the Mosque grew out of Brown Memorial member Page Campbell’s relationship with the President of the Mosque, Dr. Faheem Younus, after she took a course on Islam taught by Dr. Younus.
