Holy Week 2022

APRIL 15 at 7:30 PM

The Good Friday Tenebrae service is an opportunity to sit with the growing darkness of Jesus’ arrest, condemnation and execution. The word “tenebrae” is Latin for darkness or shadows, and this is reflected in a service which progresses from dim light to total darkness amid prayer, music and waiting for the light of Easter Sunday. (Note: the darkness of this service may be unsettling to some young children.) Use the regular worship Zoom link to join virtually.

Join us this week as we gather for hybrid worship and education. If you are considering worshipping with us in-person this Sunday or in the future, please click here for some additional things you should know. We recommend following CDC guidelines as you decide how to attend this week and encourage those in high risk categories to worship and study with us via Zoom.

The sight of daylight breaking over Baltimore City is a spectacular backdrop to a simple service of witness to Christ’s resurrection. This year we will join with Light Street and Hunting Ridge Presbyterian Churches. Anyone who wishes iswelcome to gather in Federal Hill Park at 6 a.m. for songs, liturgy, prayers and good news. Easter Brunch after the Sunrise Service at Light Street Presbyterian Church will be catered by Codetta’s Bake Shop.

Join us before worship with Memorial Episcopal for pastries and coffee from Vagrant Coffee Roasters Espresso Cart.

We joyfully celebrate the resurrection in community. Music will be provided by the Chancel Choir and brass ensemble. Communion is served. The prelude will begin at 10:40. Scripture Reading (NRSV): Luke 24:1-12
