Next “Ignite” Lunch and Learn is Feb. 26

Ignite Talks logo

Every fourth Sunday this year we are featuring “Ignite” presentations over lunch after worship. These tight, seven minute presentations are given by members of our local community on subjects that ignite their passion.

Ignite Talks are taking media by storm, similar to TED Talks but shorter and accompanied by visual images. Our congregation is full of amazing knowledge, stories and experiences, making our Assembly Room the perfect setting for Ignite Talks.

We’ll hear three great presentations on Feb. 26, 12:30-2 p.m., over a catered lunch. Suggested donation is $5/person:

Perry Williams: The Unspoken Epidemic

Perry will share the experience of losing a childhood friend to AIDS and discuss challenges the black community faces in confronting the disease.

Susan Stroupe: Immersive Theater – Collaboration & Participation

Susan will share her experience with Immersive Theater and how it uses collaboration in the process of creation, and in the unique relationship between the actors and the audience.

Court Robinson:  Going Down to the River of Jordan: A Pilgrim Looks at the Middle East

Court, who works for the Center for Refugee and Disaster Response at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, will offer insights on his recent trip to Jordan and his thoughts on religious violence in the Middle East and beyond.
