Brown Memorial is taking advantage of the longer days and warm weather to move the music ministry outside this summer on the church front steps.
Attendees will request hymns and Brown’s music director, Michael Britt, will provide accompaniment on a vintage reed organ. Lemonade will be served. In case of bad weather, hymn singing will take place in the Sanctuary vestibule.
Members of our congregation/music ministry will present a light music program outside on the front steps of Brown Memorial’s Sanctuary.
On July 7, Rob Tracy, vocalist/guitarist, will be our first featured musician. Rob is a gifted and versatile artist. His stylings feature songs from the folk and “rock” era, as well as other contemporary genres.
On July 14, the program will include the vocal talents of our choir members James Cox, Yvette Matthews, Debbie Phinney, Barbara Cates and Eddie Satterfield. We will conclude the evening with a “Community Sing.”
On July 28, Chip and Kelsie Riegel Morgan, Charles Reichelt and Tim Hughes Williams will play a set of blues, bluegrass, folk and Americana classics.
Beverages will be provided and everyone is encouraged to bring a snack or a hors d’oeuvre to share. Seating will be provided, or bring a lawn chair.
In case of rain, the concert will be moved to the Sanctuary.
