Students and Church Members “Draw the Circle Wide” during Choir Camp

Members of Brown Memorial, students from Eutaw-Marshburn Elementary, and choirs from two Pennsylvania churches stood side-by-side and filled the sanctuary with song during the second annual summer choir camp, July 17-20, 2017, for EMES students. The four-day event held at Brown Memorial included daily choral rehearsals, introduction to ringing handbells and choir chimes and other musical activities.

Brown Members Attend “Eye-Opening” Big Tent Event

Summer Schedule for Sunday Meditation Circle

Our Sunday Meditation Circle is continuing this summer at 9 a.m. in the Church House parlor, but the group is not meeting every week. In July, Meditation Circle will take place every Sunday except July 23, which is Artscape weekend. In August, Meditation Circle will take place every Sunday except August 6 and 13.

Visit Brown Memorial During Artscape

With the Artscape Festival happening just a few blocks away, July 21-23, we will open the doors at Brown Memorial for our own free events as part of Artscape’s “In the Neighborhood” program. Take a break from the heat and come to the cool, beautiful serenity of our sanctuary in Bolton Hill for a silent film and organ concert July 21, and Tiffany windows tours July 22-23.

South Tower and Fellowship Hall Renovation Update

On Sunday, June 4, Brown Memorial’s construction team gave an update on the South Tower and Fellowship Hall renovation project during a congregational meeting. The purpose of Brown’s Capital renovation project is to improve the accessibility, safety and usability of Brown’s facilities. The South Tower repairs are expected to begin in September. The Fellowship Hall building renovation will begin in December/January and will take approximately 7 months.
