Our Worship Moves to Madison Ave. Presbyterian Jan. 15

On. Jan. 15, we are delving deeper into our cross-neighborhood, One Baltimore work and also keeping in mind Rev. Martin Luther King’s observation that the Sunday morning worship hour is the most segregated hour in America. We have accepted an invitation from our closest Presbyterian neighbor, Madison Avenue Presbyterian (2110 Madison Avenue), to worship with them at 10 a.m.

Tutoring Program Celebration of Service

During the last school year, Tyion Matthews, then a 3rd grader at John Eager Howard Elementary School, enjoyed a rewarding routine. Taking part in the Brown Memorial Tutoring Program, Tyion was greeted each week by his tutor, longtime Brown Memorial member David Mock. Separated in age by more than 80 years, the two developed a warm relationship.

All Are Welcome at Brown

Brown Memorial recently erected a banner outside the church provided by Faithful America, the largest and fastest-growing online community of Christians putting faith into action for social justice. The Diversity Committee requested permission from the church to obtain and display the banner in solidarity with immigrants and refugees.

Holiday Week Schedule Changes

Please note changes to our regular Sunday and weekly schedule between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and plan accordingly. Our Church Office will be closed beginning Monday, Dec. 26, and will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
